I found a female dog yesterday on the exit ramp on east 56th street getting on to 465 north. She’s very friendly but very skittish and skinny. She has rather large nipples so we hunted around the area where I found here for at least an hour, but she just kept leading me to food scraps and trash, no puppies. I took her to Noah’s Ark on the east side where they scanned her and couldn’t find a chip. They said she could possibly have a litter somewhere, but it didn’t look like she had recently given birth or recently suckled. I didn’t want to release her so close to all of those major freeways, so I took her home with me. We gave her a small dog flea and tick treatment, but I haven’t been able to find signs of fleas or ticks on her. I’m really bad at estimating weight, but I would guess she’s around 30 pounds? She’s definitely too skinny. She might be some sort of German shepherd-hound mix. I will require proof of ownership, as well as some reasonable explanation to her weight/where she was found.
