His name is Ranger. Very calm and sweet. He did not have a tag when I first encountered him. I was able to leash him and take him to the vet for a scanning for a microchip. He has a chip, but the contact information I was provided is not work (ie the phone number has been discontinued).

Black male pit picked up at Kroger on Crawfordsville Rd with another dog. No microchips or tags.

The animals are currently being held at the Speedway Street Department. The Street Department is located at 1390 N. Lynhurst Dr. Bring proof of ownership and a carrier (cat) or leash (dog) to Speedway Street Department to claim your pet.

The Street Dept. is open M-F 7:30am- 4:30pm and can be reached by calling 317-246-4141, ask for Rob or Jared.

For clarification, Speedway Animal Rescue and the town of Speedway are 2 entirely separate entities.
The animal will be held by the Town of Speedway for the required Marion County 4-day stray hold. If the animal is not claimed, SAR will pull only IF an approved foster can be found. If no foster steps up then the Town of Speedway will relinquish the animal to IACS since Speedway is in Marion County and does not hold onto animals beyond their 4-day stray hold.
