Intact male. Found with purple collar still on. I’d guess he’s like 8months to a year old, possibly a German Shepherd mixed with a Rottweiler. No microchip.
Two weeks ago this guy wandered onto my neighbor’s property off Lynnhurst and Bertha, near Rockville road. He began feeding him because he didn’t want the little guy to starve. The dog began to realize that the man’s car was black and he got fed after the man came home, so the dog began running out into the street anytime he saw a black Sudan, nearly getting hit by oncoming cars. Multiple times now, people I know have almost hit the poor guy, so I went to the home to figure out how we can stop the dog from running into the road. That is when I found out that he has literally just wandered onto his property, and did not belong to the homeowner. The man said they have posted him looking for owners, and have contacted others looking for their canine friends, with no luck. The man is not able to keep the sweet canine, just wanted to make sure he didn’t starve, and the dog just stuck around his property. I couldn’t leave the dog there in good conscience, so I brought him to my home, where he would be safe and have a warm place to sleep. I’m hoping to possibly find his owner, even though it’s been over 2 weeks, because he was definitely owned. Knows how to sit and do some basic commands, very friendly. My dog doesn’t do well with other dogs (she was attacked right before covid hit, so she is fearful), so I am unable to keep him for long. I just wanted the little guy to be safe until we find his owners, or find him a forever family. Please let me know if you’re the owner or if you’re open to keeping the sweet man!
