A medium sized black female dog was presumably hit by a car, it seems sometime yesterday, near Sherman and 42nd. She did not make it, but her body has been picked up and is being kept at a local veterinary office. She is not chipped and has no tags, collar, harness, etc. We wanted to give an owner the chance to claim her before handing her over for communal cremation.
She is pretty waterlogged after all the rain last night and this morning but guessing she was in the 30-40 pound range. She has white on her face, belly, and feet and at least one old scar near her ribcage.
I’m not including photos as it’s difficult to get any identifying photos without showing anything too graphic.
I know it’s a long shot that someone will claim her, and part of me hopes no one does and we can let her go peacefully without any more hurt being caused, to pet or person.
