Was hanging around my back door last night when I had my dog out after dinner. My little guy is a chihuahua and of course started barking (to protect me) so I pulled him in quickly and figured the black dog would go elsewhere. He/she was still there this morning when we went out. Seems friendly. No growling or barking. Keeps sticking the nose in each time I opened the door to try to get in. I had to leave for work, so distracted him/her with some larger treats. The dog followed me to my car and hopped up like it wanted a car ride. I told it it couldn’t come with me, so it went back to my back door. Not sure why it’s attracted to my area since there’s no food or anything interesting out there. Since there’s a leash and collar I’m guessing this one has a home. If it’s still there when I get home and continues to approach without being threatening, I’ll try to get close enough to see if there’s a tag.
UPDATE: he was found near the intersection of Southern Ave. and Capitol. He has no tags and is not chipped. Totally friendly, about 50 lbs and one year old. Proof of ownership is required.
