Sammie is a 7 pound chi-weenie. She is about 17 years old and is essentially both blind and deaf and the vet says developing doggy dementia. She has no teeth and neuropathy in her front and hind legs. Sammie will walk and walk until she tires but she is not nimble and often cannot make it up over the door sill or climb into her bed. She will wait to be picked up and relocated.
Sammie gets confused and will yelp when she gets stuck somewhere (behind a door or between the bed and the nightstand). She rubs her nose on your leg to get your attention. She likes to be held for a short time; then she wants down.

Sammie is a very gentle dog but will startle when touched due to her disabilities. She will then cower down and allow someone to pick her up.
